  This week's assignment showed me that terminating a twisted-pair cable with an RJ-45 plug takes more than just knowing the steps. Each tool has a specific role. The wire cutter trims the cable evenly, the wire stripper removes the outer jacket without damaging the inner wires, and the crimping tool secures the RJ-45 plug onto the cable so the connection works properly. Researching prices also showed that these tools can range from basic budget options to more professional-grade versions. I also learned that combination tools can save money and space by performing multiple functions, which makes them practical for students and technicians alike.
