Week 10

For this week’s blog entry, I learned about different email configurations. I didn’t know anything really about email configuration beforehand, so it was all new to me. My knowledge was basically you click on the Yahoo button on your phone or computer and sign in, and then you're good to go! Yahoo uses the IMAP4 standard or the Internet Message Access Protocol to retrieve my messages. IMAP4 stores mail on a central server, supports servers and server wide searching, and as far as the configuration information is concerned, you’ll need the name of the IMAP server and your username and password.
