Week 4

For this week's edition, I'll be discussing the many faces of RAID. Before this week I had never heard of RAID in regards to a computer. Only when talking about the bug spray. RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent (or inexpensive) Disks and was created in the 1980s to help protect computer data from being lost. There are many different levels of RAID, each level is basically a different way to go about protecting data. Today, methods 0,1,5,6,10, and 0+1 are the main levels of RAID that are in use. Without RAID and it’s many faces, where would we be?
